What is WinZip?

What is WinZip? Every one using internet and computer will surely see atleast one WinZip file. Are you confused by seeing WinZip file?
WinZip is a Windows based program that allows you to compress the files and open previously compressed files in the zip format. WinZip also supports famous file compression and archive formats such as .cab (cabinet), .hqx (binhex), gzip etc. It also opens other formats also but we require additional program to do so. But if we use WinZip we should pay the software author since it is a shareware. The files compressed with WinZip will have .zip extension.

How we can install WinZip
•First download the software from http://www.winzip.com/index.htm. Also try to remember the name of software and where it is downloaded.
•Then open ‘windows explorer’ and double click (Right click and select ‘open’) the software icon. If you don’t know where the file is saved, from ‘start ‘ choose ‘find’ or ‘search’ and enter WinZip then ok. Then a dialog box will open and click setup.
•Then a new dialog box will open and it will ask where to install. Choose a location and press ‘ok’ .Then install wizard will start. Then press ‘next’. Again new dialog box will appear enable ‘I agree’ and press ‘next’.
•Then you have to select ‘classic wizard’ or ‘wizard interface’. Better you choose ‘classic wizard’.
•As the wizard continues more questions will be asked, you select according to your choice. For difficult questions just select ‘default answer’ or ‘recommended choice’.
•Choose ‘shortcut’ in desktop and start menu. Then press ‘done’.
•You can find that when you drag zip files around in Explorer, rather than simply copying the file, you will get the option of extracting the file's contents into the target folder.
