'Poy Solla Porom' tells story about responsible parents and careless children in simple manner. Sathyanathan(Nedumudi Venu) wants to build a dream home after his retirement with his savings.He also wants his three children stay home for always with him.But his elder son Uppilinathan(Karthik) is very much keen to go America.In film Uppilinathan is a software engineer and he is succeeded in expressing software engineer's mannerisms.Sathyanathan meets a land broker(Cochin Haneefa) and buys a piece of land .After buying the land he goes there to do Ganapathi pooja and he understands that his land was captured by Baby(Nassar)who is a illegal land dealer. Inorder to get his land back Sathyanathan meets police,politician and his land broker but it has no use. This crisis stirs unity in the family.Uppilinatan along with his girl friend,her father,her brother and Uppili's brother and sister he captures his father's land from Baby and gives to Sathyanathan.This is the simple story of the 'Poy Solla Porom'.
